WHY WAS IT STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS
The revitalisation project on Francis Street in Dublin did experience some delays and was still a work in progress in June 2022 due to several reasons:
Underground infrastructure issues: Older city streets often have unexpected issues with pipes, cables, and other underground infrastructure. These can cause delays as they need to be carefully managed during construction.
Supply chain disruptions: The COVID-19 pandemic caused significant disruptions in the global supply chain. This made it difficult to get materials and equipment on time, leading to project delays.
Coordination challenges: Large-scale projects like the Francis Street revitalisation involve many different stakeholders, including contractors, utility companies, and city officials. Coordinating everyone's efforts can be complex and time-consuming.
These factors combined to push the completion date of the project back.
